Topic Dog Boards / Health / Anal glands

Hi guys :)

My dog was smelling really strongly of fish last night but not so bad this morning, now I know that they can get infections etc from the anal glands but I was just wondering if the smell could be a sign of infection as he has not been 'scooting' on the floor or licking/biting etc and the area does not look red or sore. Also I know they can give the smell off when there excited or scared so could it just be this?

UPDATE:

He doesnt seem to smell any more and is acting ok so Im guessing it must have been excitement as there was nothing that could of scared him...I will keep an eye on him though :)
