I may have read your post wrong, but I think you said you're a mum-to-be so I would advise not to look at getting a puppy just yet as you are going to have your hands full and it won't be fair on the puppy.  Who will look after it when you go into hospital?  Who will take it for walks and house train it whilst you're looking after the baby?

I apologise if I've got the wrong end of the stick, but I personally think itwould be a bad idea.  IMO.
