I have a 15week old border collie and if you mean she runs around in circles and jumps all over the place full of bounce and energy, plays with her ball on a rope by bashing it on the ground and bouncing it off the furniture, then I would say yes that is normal :)

It's when they don't that you need to worry! :)

Best wishes, John

my gsd bitch is coming up to 14 weeks this week and she does the same, chases her tail barks for no reason and goes loopy running around the room.
most of the time its really funny except when she grabs the sofa cushions abnd chucks them around, think its just pure puppy play?

My father-in-law's GSD used to do this with the cushiions Sam (he was pts many years ago).  We thought he did it out of boredom, but we could be wrong!

If you think thats not normal, try living with my lot! Flatcoats never grow up and yesterday I came home to find them in the middle of a game..... Paper everywhere, sofa cushions on the floor where they'd been thrown off the couch, the telephone on the floor and them dashing round like lunatics being very silly. I do have a puppy of six months, but that doesn't explain the mad spangle Jack and Rosebud at NINE YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!
As John said the time they don't do that as puppies then is the time to be really worried something could be wrong.

Is it that time of year.   I also came home yesterday to a lovely living room, it was worse than when I was broken into and that was bad.   Video's everywhere, phone on the floor, cushions all over and my girls 12!!!

Its called puppy mad half hours ( although they arent restricted to half hours ;)  )
- By Lea Date 10.02.04 23:33 UTC
Lel, not restricted to puppies either. Think every dog has a mad half hour onnce a day!!!!!!!! (although my nearly 7yo Rottie cross is too much of an 'old refined lady' to do it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Lea :)
