Crossposting this from K9community and an email just received.

At the weekend a young male brown whippet was found dead near the River Frome at Winterbourne, just north of Bristol in South Gloucestershire.

He had been hung from a tree (not an accident) and was in a badly decomposed state. Hence the rather sketchy description.

His body was reported to Petsearch who cut him down. His body is now with the RSPCA.

While nobody knows who did this. There is a traveller site very close to the area and they are heavily implicated in dog thefts. Police won't go on there.

I've read this ten times before been able to write a "printable" post. Now I know I can't and never will understand some people. :(

Where we are, about 6-7yrs ago a greyhound was found hung just like that.
He was found at what was supposed to be a 'beauty spot'.
Can't have been that beautiful because the poor thing had been there 'a fair time' according to the police. I wonder how many people had just walked by without doing anything?? They caught who did it.They were 14-15yr old kids, boys & girls, they had used the poor thing for 'target practice' before hanging it.
It had belonged to an old man who had died and his family were just letting it out. I'm nearly sure the owner had rescued him from the track and he was about 11yr old.
They never even reported the dog missing.
His poor owner must have been turning in his grave.

This is the same area that our spaniel pup was taken from his kennel!

Word can't express adequately, can they?
