An advertisement has appeared in Exchange and Mart asking to purchase dogs and puppies. The advert has an email address, web site and a telephone number to contact. The location for this advertisement is KOREA need I say anymore.

When previously searching on a search engine for pet shops/breeders in Korea, I had found this organisation, at least the web site of what I believe to be dealers/agents in puppies and dogs.  I did not expect to see it again in Exchange and Mart though.

I have email Exchange & Mart in the hope that it will not be caried again. Perhaps other may like to do the same.

Er let us not forget that Samsung is a major sponsor of Crufts and that they do actually have dogs as pets and promote their own breeds!

some cultures find the eating of cows horrific

Whilst I can understand you being upset I dont think that the imported pups would be being bought as meat!  However, I would be concerned at the outcome of ofsfpring etc.  From what I have seen the Korean dog meat trade seems to thrive on a lot of poor crossbreeds.  There is a pet owning (and showing) section of the community there too.  Met a dog in the USA last month who had just come across from Korea to finish his US title.  And, as mentioned, there is Samsung (who dont advertise for dogs like this, of course) who have  wide ranging animal interests, including guide dogs and Assistance Dogs kennels, Search & Rescue Dog Kennels, pedigree breeding programmes (no pups are not sold from this scheme, they are palced in the homes of staff memembers who apply, and are given lifelong Vet care, grooming etc) Riding for the Disabled, Wildlife Parks, and probably loads of others I dont know of.

However, on another list, I did see photos etc of some very nasty looking dog dealing outfits (one operating out of what looked like a disused spa, with empty swimming pool house loads of dog crates. )  Pups are regularly sold in street markets, and the level of dog care knowledge amoung the general public is not always high.  I think this is probably the sort of  future any pups bought throug this add would have, and certainly not to be condoned.

at least they have regulations for the killing of cows over here, i expect many countries have few regulations with regards to killing animals for meat (or regulations they follow)

not that i condone animal killing in the slightest, since ive been a vegetarian since 15.
(and i was well known for 'rescuing' ants, bees, caterpillars (from boys who tried to squash them !) and any other animal i could get my hands on - my mum won't let me forget the day we went on a causeway (farne islands ?) and i spent the entire time moving all the sea snails so that people wouldn't walk on them :D
