Sorry Milly, I agree with Jackie. I have had a stud dog lined up to mate with my Labrador Anna ever since she was two years old but because of pressure of work and home problems I've not thought the time right. She will be 6 in May and I'm now reconciled to the fact that it is now too late for a first litter. To me, the 6th birthday is the cut off point.

Wow!!! much to late, you could have lots of problems and you might lose your girlie please dont do it to her go and buy a pup from a good breeder that tests there stock.

Please don't do it, it's not fair on her & it's not worth the risk.

My eldest dog is nearly 7. 49 in dog years, she has got slower and I call her, my olde lady. If you think of it in those terms, It would  be a scary thought breeding for the first time from her.If it was my bitch, I would be that terified something would go wrong. The same as humans, more can go wqrong as you getr older!!!!!!!!!
