Why do you think putting a coat on our dog improves his behavior 100% he's quite well behaved but will pull when he knows he's nearly home or if we see a dog he likes the look of.
But put a coat on him and he's an angel and walks with a loose lead 100% of the time.

A lead around the dog's chest, just touching the top of the front legs is one way to get a dog to walk nicely so maybe the coat has the same effect. 

Also it depends what colour the coat is.  Perhaps he doesn't want to pull towards the other dog because he's embarrassed. ;)

Thanks Sally I hadn't heard that before but his coat does come down and touch the tops of his legs so it must be that,  although he does always look a little embarrassed to wear it.

Tellington Touch uses a technique which involves wraping the body with a wide bandage, and sometimes a t shirt can be used in stead - it's great for shy, nervous dogs - my ESS bitch certainly seems more relaxed when wearing her coat (which is only normally when sitting about at training classes when it's cold, before anyone lays into me because she's a gundog designed to be out in all weathers ;))

My dogs love wearing thier coats,& trot along nicely looking proud!
