My friend, stacy is wanting to become a vet nurse or a vet nurse assistant, buut just wants to know if you need any qualifications to become one of these? and if so what are they?
She has an NVQ level 2 in small animal care and has lots of experience working in many different types of kennels and catteries. Can someone please help?

yes she will need qualifications. Something like a national diploma in animal care will be a great help. Lots and lots and lots of experience will ensure you a starting point. But be prepared to spend lots of time cleaning and not much else until your qualified! Good luck!
Hi
Once she has spoken to the BNVA, she'll have to write to vets in her area and get a placement in one then do on the job training.
I tried to do this a while ago but not all vets have a licence to do this.

My daughter is training as a vet nurse, she's been with the pactice for 8 months and hopes to start college later this year.
Your friend will need to find a local training vet and work with them for a minimum of one year before she can start college for her qualifications.
The other alternative is to ask at your local vets if they need any help and do the work without the qualifications.
The pay is lousy to start but job satisfaction is great.
