It appears I'm manning the scurry there for half a day! Don't know which day yet or whether it's for the morning or afternoon. That will get sorted later when we know when everyone is available. I usually take Anna but because of working I shall leave her at home this year. It is a lovely day out and well worth the effort getting there.
Best wishes, John

I'll look out for you John, I pressume you're the tall, dark handsome one attached to the end of a labrador? I'll come & say hello if I see you. :)

Of course we shall be there, it's the nearest I get to an annual holiday, the dogs love it too. We always camp as it makes for a decent break and saves all the queueing to get in. You can't see all there is to see in two days, let alone one!
I too shall keep an eye out for you John, our springer got a first in the scurry last year and at Shuttleworth in 2001! If she doesn't have pups by then I'll give the cocker a run out too.

I prefer the Midland game fair, there's more dog events on, terrier & lurcher shows & racing etc...

The Midland Game Fair works as a late season break! And of course a good excuse to stock up on all those goodies you need for the shooting season (extra clothing, stuff for the dog, etc) at bargain prices.
It's a lovely setting too but never worth the hassle of going for the day with all the traffic problems. Camping alleviates all that, arrive Friday pm leave on Sunday afternoon!

Has anyone been to the one at Skone Palace? It was a choice between that one and the cla one last year but as the cla was up north, decided to go there instead.
For a smallish game fair, I like the Lowther one.

I've never been to Lowther, it always rains there too.... the Midland is easily the best one, Selby game fair is quite good its on 4 days now too..

Hi guys,
Definitely going to Blenheim this year- It was my 'first time' last year (maybe I should re-phrase that!) and it was great. We took the dogs last year, Kester was only about 12 weeks old - we ended up taking it in turns to have a walk around, then have a cup of tea and give him a rest. My kids loved it, although it was a very long day as Miles was only just 4 then. Rhys (whos nearly 9) was transfixed for what seemed like hours to the fly fishing displays. He stood there with his mouth open for most of the time. I hope the weather holds for this year-last year it was lovely when we went. It was the first 'doggy' event that I've ever been to where I didn't go round thinking that most of the Labs looked fat!. Pretty much all of the dogs I saw were in fabulous condition and very well trained. Hurray!
Miles fell in love with the Beagle pack - ALL of them! and wanted to take them home and was most miffed when I said that I didn't think that they would all fit in a Volvo estate, no matter how big the boot was! He asked if we could just have one or two and that the 'nice man' would'nt miss a few as he already had so many!
Great fun- here's hoping that this year will be just as good and dry as last year
Ali :)
P.S. John, I'll look out for you- I'll be with two black labs and two small children with Beagles hidden under their coats!
