Just filled in the first Schedule with my new puppy's name and got the same feeling excited anticipation as I did when doing it for the very first time for my very first show dog. Somehow showing puppies is such an exciting time and I always enjoy it so. Feel sad once they grow out of the age classes and move into the qualification ones.
At the moment he has not been to a ringcraft class so I intend to start tomorrow, not before time I hear you say, he has been to normal training classes and finds the whole thing a huge buzz, have taught him to stand now have to see if he will stay standing when someone tries to go over him. :)
Still despite the fact he has, at the moment, not a clue of what is expected, I have just entered him in 3 classes, yes I know, I will never do all 3 but it seems a good idea at the moment. :) :D :)

Hi Jackie, I understand completely the excitement you are feeling. I have recently begun to show a new puppy too. You have such high hopes for them don't you and you find yourself daydreaming about what they may achieve in their career. In my case the puppy is from my first ever litter, and I have been feeling so very nervous when walking into the ring. I have shown for 30 years this year, and so it's been many a long while since I was last nervous, even at Crufts. I think it is a case of being judged by what you produce. The breeder of my pups mother saw my new baby at Manchester and thought she was exquisite, and I don't think he realised just how much that meant to me. It has given me alot of extra confidence.
Good Luck for the future of the new puppy.

Good luck to you too, it must be even more exciting to show a pup you have bred, for the first time. Think I would know if I have one that would fly and I don't expect it ever, not my pups fault the judge does not agree with me. But to fill in the schedule starts you thinking of what might be, however unlikely, am I just an old fool or do most people feel like that

Good lord Jackie, you're not a fool, old or otherwise :) I think most people feel like that :) And what would life be like if we didn't dream of great things to keep us going!! Good luck to you both in the ring with your new babies :)

Thats the great thing about pups isn't it? Its like the very first time each time you start with a new one. Have just checked out which will be the first show my baby can enter (a while to go, just 9 weeks old at the moment) and already getting fllutters of anticipation. Of course, there is a long way to go yet to see if he is going to stay this good! I never intended t keep a boy from this litter, always planned to keep a girl (I bred Mum, Grandma and Great-Grandma, as well as Daddy, so a special litter to me). However he just looks sooooo good! :). So border Union or Blackpool will probably see his "coming out" ;) And I am already excited! Good luck to all the pups mentioned here.
Bye

Really glad I'm not alone in the way I feel, have had this schedule on my desk for the last week, just to enjoy the fluttery feeling.
