Hi everyone,
over the last couple of months I've noticed that vertically between Alf's nostrils his nose has turned from black to brown. He's in fine health - coat fantastic, eating well, loads of energy etc........ I've looked on the web about snow nose but I have never heard of a Rottweiler getting this. I just wondered if anyone else has - or is a trip to the vet appropriate?

Don't really know but it may well change back in the spring, if the dog is well then I would not bother with the vets unless something else happens, just mention it if you are there for someother reason. Could ask you breeder, it could be a thing that happens in their lines.

its to do with pigment and can happen in any rottie - there are many suggestions on how to stop it happening and i think feeding kliver is one of them but prob worth contacting the lady who wrights in our dogs rottie section as she did a piece on it a few months ago.
Thanks for that info - I'll e mail Our dogs and see if they can help with the article.

i think kelp is meant to help with pigment.
Yep you're right. I've read about it on the web.
There's also pigment plus - does anyone know which is best please.

Jane Heath (who writes the Our Dog Breed Notes) recommended liver for darkening the mouth - not sure whether it would work on the nose but it's worth a try.
