I have a 14 month old gsd bitch and she is very intelligent. Just wondering if you guys know of any other good tricks that I could teach her? She already knows the basics ie. sit, stand ,stay, down, paw, send away. She also knows how to speak, shake her head when I ask her something, bow, play dead (This is a great one),when I say bang she limps along with a yelp, then she starts to crawl and then eventually dies. She does wave and also does shy, when I say "are you shy?" she puts her paw up to her eye and holds it there until I tell her o.k. Can't think of any more but I need something to teach her to keep her occupied.
any advice would be appreciated for a bored dog and a tired owner
Thanks
Amy

weaving between your legs, praying, circle both ways around your body, twisting in circles beside your body, walking backwards, rolling over, high five, crossing her legs, shutting the door, .........................

How to Teach Your Dog to Talk by Captain Haggerty, this has loads of tricks in. Reading this is quicker than me explaining it methinks (not sure if he has praying in his book).
Why not think of taking up some competitive sport with her such as Working Trials, obedience or HTM if you are that keen and the dog is that good?

Would love to do tracking, protection work etc with her but dont know how to go about it. Does any body know of anywhere that does such a thing in the NE of England? We are already attending a good obedience training class but it bores me a little so I wouldnt really want to compete.I also show her but we are restricted a little cos I dont drive.
Any help appreciated

http://www.workingtrials.co.uk/The above site will give you details of societies. North East Counties have trials. However if you do not drive you will be stuffed for competing :D
The British Schutzhund Association also have a club in that area.
Yes Amazon will have the book

Capt Haggety's book is great fun even just reading it and looking at the pictures. If you teach your dog to jump on your shoulders, can I see a picture please? :D
