I own two Cockers both are 16 months old (1 female and 1 male).  I am considering re-homing the female (Tilly).  I did not work when I purchased her but I now have to go out to work.  I am wondering if anybody has experience in how this will affect the male (Dillon) as they are very close and love each other to bits.  I am very sad that I have come to this decision but I don't think it is fair keeping them locked up all day whilst I am out at work.  My neighbour will be looking after Dillon during the day but she cannot handle the pair of them.

I would be grateful if you could give me any help and advice that you think may assist me in making my decision.

Thanks you very much
Rachel.

Hi Rachel, if you have made a definite decision to rehome your bitch, then you should contact the breeder you got her from. I'm assuming here that she came from a breeder and not a puppy supermarket, or puppy farm. Reputable breeders are always keen to know what is happening with their pups and are usually willing to take back the puppy when it falls on hard times. I know if I were this dogs breeder, I would want her back so I could find a suitable new home for her. Try this avenue, it's the right thing to do.
