Yes a serious question, has anyone on here ever used glass bricks and do you regret using them or are they the best thing since sliced bread. I want light but not a window ;)
Karen

I once went to someone's house and they had a kind of walk in shower and instead of a shower cubicle or anything they had a kind of wall of glass bricks and the shower behind. It was all very fancy and looked great but I suppose that's not really what you had in mind. Apparently they're very heavy so if you had a wall of them you'd need to check the floor's load bearing capacity. God now I sound like a surveyor lol. I'm sure someone else will talk more sense!

PS the shower thing was in a very big bathroom. I wasn't trying it out or anything, just went to the loo :D

Hi Karen
I don't have any, but I'd like them! :D I think they're really lovely.
Sorry, that's been no use at all!

Thanks Cordelia, The item has closed though will check if if pops up again though.
I have seen them a few times, and quite like the ides they seem to be able to give you the light you need and more security than a window.
Karen

try again Kazzstaff. I just had a look & saw them.
My sister has got them seperating her dining room / hall.

Hello! We have 2 rows of 6 glass bricks in between our kitchen and lounge (made into the wall). It looks very good and adds lots of light in to the living room. Personally I find a large amount of them together a bit sickening!!

kazzstaff, do you watch dream team? I noticed this evening that Abi has got a wall in her house made with glass bricks. :)
The company I work for uses them in different situations -can be a shower screen , a partition between two rooms , a pedestal to stand a kitchen Island on or a false window . Fitted right they look brilliant in a lot of situations ;)

Hi Thanks for the suggestions :) I fancy using them to let some more light into the hall from the porch just about 3 or so rows.
Ta for the suggestions, isn't it odd once you think of something everywhere you go you see them ;) a friend has them either side of her front door, I noticed when I picked her up last night...I've been there at least once a week for the last 5 years and she has had them all that time :( shows what I notice doesn't it.
