My parents have a 5 yr old Welsh terrier bitch that has a tendancy to bite people occasionally. She has also shown some unusual behaviour that could be either a possible brain tumour or alternatively purely a behavioural thing. She will be having a brain scan soon to rule out a tumour but my mother feels that if there is no tumour she will have to have the dog destroyed. In my opinion, Tanzy's behaviour is related to stress and also the inconsistency of the various family members treating her differently from each other. They have used a dog psychologist before and this has helped. Tanzy seems to think that she is top dog (the vet agrees) and I would like to know if there is any rehoming service available to help her.

I do hope your dog is OK -

I think most people would agree with you, that it is very important to be consistent with a dog, or he/she will get confused to say the least, and that could cause stress.

If a dog psychologist has helped before, then it sounds more like a behavioural thing, but you never know....

I have just been chatting to a friend who had a puppy JRT referred to her, the adult dog was getting really angry with it, and the puppy was found to be almost totally blind - owner didn't know and of course, the pup found it hard to respond to normal canine interactions. So, you never know....has Tansy had a general vet check, I presume so from your post.

Someone else may know of rehoming, if she is suitable for it....what area are you in, Emma?

HOpe it turns out oK for you and Tansy
