She may not be ready or she may not like the dog. How far into her season is she? Bitches can ovulate at different times in their season than you think. If she doesn't do anything I would suggest you either try a different dog or ask the vet about blood tests. That's what I'm doing just now. It's not cheap though.

ok shes on day 11,if nothing happens this time i will get her blood tested next season, thinking about it she might not have been ready just had a call to say she seems more intrested in the male today, they havnt done anything but she seems to be following him everywhere, will let you know what happens

If it's of any interest, my last brood bitch stood on day 14 for her first litter, and day 19 for her second.

My bitch stood on day 14 both times she was mated. Only the first time produced pups which is why I'm doing blood tests this time. I still expect her to be ready on day 14 though. We'll see ;)

Try giveing her a few dose's of Bach rescue remedy leading up to the mateing it might relax her a bit, it is always best to get her swabed for bacteria on the first day of her season and blood tested from the 9th day just to be sure

ours was the thirtheenth day so may be its abit early:) keep up the good work the first time we tried to breed we missed it by two days so we said oh well there is always the next season and on the 13th day she was ready willing and very able I kept her at the studs house for two days she had a Ball:)

I have had one who ovulates 7-9days and another 16-18days, I don't believe that you can 'go by the book' Why not have her blood tested this time, it's not too late.

if its any help my friend is a quite well known breeders of working JRTs he only mates them once and only on day 14 and seems to have a very high success rate.
personally my bitchezs are ready from day 9 to day 14 so pretty average although my sisters setter always stands and ovulates on day 2! so they are all different
good luck :)
