Topic Dog Boards / Health / German shepherd pup (12.5 weeks) is ill
- By Graham_T [gb] Date 27.01.04 10:19 UTC
I have a german shepherd pup at 12 and a half weeks old....in the last week or so his number 2's have become quite runny, i thought it may have been because of his second injections but it hasn't improved....and this morning he threw his breakfast up.

Is this normal in a puppy?

Is it worth contacting vet?

Your advice would be very appreciated

Just to let you know, i contacted the vets and they said it wasn't likely to be related to his injection and that he NEEDS to come in. They told me not to feed him too.

Hi all,

Just to let you know that i took Max to the vets that evening...the vet gave him Science Plan prescription food, 2 injections and some white powder which i understand to be dried bacteria which has to be added to his water.  After having starved him that day, i then fed him on the Science plan food and his No2's seems to be 'better' again.  He hasn't thrown up either.

So i hope that when we put him back on his 'Arden Grange' food, that he will be alright.

regards

Graham and now healthy Max

Hi Graham_T. I have a GSD puppy (3.5 months) too and have noticed that she gets runny poo (not very bad though) after each combo injection (so far we had only two). I am not sure if it was related to the shots or not, but I know that I fed her raw meat before that. So I think it might have triggered the runny poo. And my vet said exactly the same thing yours did - "it wasn't likely to be related to his injection". I am done with raw meat for good. Only cooked now. :)

you can minimise vaccine reaction by administering the homeopathic remedy Thuja.
