If dogs do not see in colour, why does Spice insist on attempting to chase RED cars? in car parks she will drag me to a parked red car! Her kerb drill is coming along great with the exception of RED cars.Has anyone else had similar experience where colour is concerned? I am considering asking the Post Office to change the colour of their vans ;)

dogs do see in colours, just not as many as us :)

Dogs can distinguish between different colours and hues, but not as well as humans.  Unless it's in the dark, because they see much better than we do in low light.

My dog goes nuts when she sees a postman bicycling down our road.  She can tell the difference between an ordinary cycler and a postman.  I suspect it's because of the orange-red jacket postmen wear.

My vet told me that a dogs vision is very close to a human that has red/green colour blindness. Red/green colour blindness in men is fairly common.

Men with Red/green colour blindness tend to have an excellent sense of humour, are very attentive to their loved ones, have superb dress sense and are just all round fun people to be with.

P.S I have red/green colour blindness :D

Is that true Robert or did you just make it up?  Only my son is colour blind and that describes him to a tee.
