I thought I had been getting somewhere with my 9month old Border Collie bitch rescue dog (she had no toilet training when we had her), as she had gone about 7 days without weeing or pooing in the house.  She is fine when we are in as she will sit in front of the window and grumble when she wants letting out to do her business.  But just lately when I come home from work at lunch and when getting up about 7.30am in the morning I am greeted by a wee and a poo in the kitchen.  Please does anyone have any suggestions as I am really running out of ideas.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I think patience will be your best ally here. Treat her as you would a new puppy, taking her out every hour or so, and when she performs outside, give her your special word of 'command' and lots of praise (when she's finished!). Hopefully she'll be quicker to learn than a baby pup, but give her two or three months before you start getting anxious. Good luck.

Is she speyed?  If not do you know where abouts in her cycle she is?  It could be the onset of her season.

I'm not sure, I dont know much about these things.  All I know is that she had her first season about one month ago.  I am having her speyed on 12th Feb, would this affect her??

I had the same problem, except with a young puppy. He would do just fine when we were all home to take him out when he needed. But at night he would greet me with a wee and a poo in his crate. So my solution? I started getting up at 3:00 AM every single night to let him relieve himself. Being a young pup, I didn't expect him to hold everything all night. And after I started letting him out in the middle of the night, he never had another accident. And now, still a young puppy, he can hold it all night. So my suggestion is that during the night, wake up and let your Border out and see if she still leaves a few gifts for you in the morning. =)

In reply to Lel, no I only had her about 3 and half months ago from an RSPCA rescue centre.  Previous to then she had been left outside tied up with no shelter from a small baby, poor thing!!!

Poor little girl !!
I would advise patience then and carry on training her as if she were a small puppy and take it back to basics .
Someone else has suggested getting up slightly earlier to let her go out and do what she needs to do .
She will eventually get the hang of it - after all you mentioned she has gone 7 days without leaving any little presents .
I'm sure you've tried this already but make sure she has a walk before bedtime where she may do what she needs to do but overall i would say patience .

Thanks Lesley, she is such a fabulously loving little dog considering everything and brings so much joy and laughter to our household, she's worth every little present she leaves us now and again!!!
