hi i would like to say that i don't agree with mixed breeding. i like to know what am getting.my neighbour had a mixed breed of an alsation and boxer, apart from the dog looking totally odd all it did was constantly bark ,distroy washing which was hanging and i don't mind saying i was a bit intimidated by it. i really did feel sorry for the dog

I am not totally against mixed breeds but I would say that breeds should not be mixed on purpose. Some accidents will happen no matter how hard you try.
Some cross breeds have lovely tempremants and I suppose it all depends on what they are crossed with. I once saw a border collie cross stafford and it was the most nervous and snappy animal I have ever come across, yet I have seen a border collie cross corgi and it was quite nice. I would prefer a pedigree animal but if you just want a companion I don't see cross breeds posing a problem they can be taught just like a pedigree animal.
This is just my opinion.

So what does everyone think about the deliberate retriever/collie mixes that have produced WT and Ob Champions then? :D

i do agree that their are some crossbreeds that do have good temperments, but it's a bit of a risk and i do understand accidents happen but the breed i was talking about was on purpose as this was thier second one
