I have read several posts on here about certain dry foods worsening hyper behaviour. Our 16 week lab is fed on Beta and is often a bit hyper; I know he will grow out of this but does anyone think his food might be partly to blame?

Absolutely, not a food that I would personally ever use.

I would also take into consideration the breed of dog though - some are more hyper than other breeds to start off with-and not just assume its all due to the food .
And dont forget puppies do have mad half hours ( that are not confined to half hours by the way ) ;)

My rehomed Beardie came on this and i think he's calmer since I swapped to a more natural diet

My Gordon Setter was exactly the same on Pro Plan, I changed him over onto Burns, which is much more natural and has less "fillers" in it, and his loopy half hours stopped - cant be just that he's grown out of them as he is still only 17 weeks and has been on Burns now for nearly a month! another advantage with Burns is you can order it on-line, and delivery is free. Also, his coat is glossier than ever!

A normal 16 week old puppy is hyper at times!
Beta is not a brand I would feed, however, there are better about and I'm sure you will get loads of suggestions. Burns is among the best complete dry food, you would probably need to order it from their Web site. JWB is more readily available and in my opinion is a better food than Beta.

hi
yes i think it helps abit since my boxer has been on burns and also only has burns treats she does settle alot easier of course you have to combine it with exercise, mental stimulation as well but burns has deffernantly helped.
