I have a gsd bitch that was diagnosed with a food intolerance some time ago.The vet said that I had to put her on hills science plan and she how she goes, the problem is she is a really fussy eater and she didnt like it I was told by the vet not to give her anything else and she will eat when shes hungry. So I waited and waited and after 5 days she still hadn't touched a mouth full, she was very ill and had to be put on a drip at the vets. The vet then recommended james Wellbeloved so I put her on that and hooray she ate it but the problem was she was still nibbling her legs and her coat went very scurfy and started dropping out in clumps. I know this wasnt her moulting as she had just got her coat back and although brushing her everyday it went on for 4 months. Ihave tried other things recommended to me like arden grange which she woulnt eat, Red mills which didnt solve the nibbling at the legs or the sickness(only the runs).
Just wondering if any of you guys new of any other foods to try?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We had the sam prob with our GSD and have tried every food possible to get one that agrees with her stomach and skin she can not have, meat, eggs, dairy and various wheat products. She is now on Burns fish and brown rice which she is doing great on she has gone off it a bit Burns reccommended that i mix a little water with it to bring out the smell of the fish, i done this this morning and she ate it all so hopefully this may work, a lot of dogs are so fussy but a lot of it is down to us chopping and changing there food.

For the skin i would recommened you but Aloe vera veternary formula http://www.aloecentre.co.uk will cost you around £13 but will last you for yrs, you spray it on the affending area and it releives the itching which then stops them from chewing it contains no chemicals so you can spray it as many times as you like. You will start to see hair growth in 3 days.
All the best

for the one that i use it is £32.99 a sack 15kg and they do not charge p&p they also have a food quide on there for you for the cost per day and how many days it will last for the weight of the daog but because you have 4 dogs you will need to do you sums to work out cost but i would say that you will need two sacks every 4 weeks

All you need to do is feed a commercial food without those ingredients (remember this includes treats) or feed raw.
