Hi all
Just got home from shopping and i could kill my 2 year old son, he was a pain in the supermarket running around and not doing as he was told anyway when i got to the check out he was still running around and wouldnt come to me, i saw a dog tied up outside through the window and shouted at him to come and have a look, thinking that watching it would keep him happy for a while.
Before i knew it he had run out of the shop, my first thought was oh god the road and then i remembered the dog and realised that was were he was heading. My heart stopped and for a second i couldnt move all i could think of was he was going to hit this dog at full belt and the dog would bite him, it was i think a greyhound X and it only had one eye.
Well he did hit it full belt through his arms around its neck and started kissing its face, by this time i was outside and grabbed him. The dog just stood there and done nothing. I really wish now that i had waited for the owner to come out so that i could tell them how wonderfull i thought there dog was but at that point i just wanted to get home.
All my children know not to approach a strange dog without asking the owner first but he just keeps on doing it.
I am just so happy that the dog was so good, this could have turned out an awfull lot worse.

Toddlers!! Give me dogs anyday :D I live over the road from social services and the amount of times i have threatened to leave mine there are unbelievable (Everyday lol)
I think we get worse with age though, less patient. I mean i've even started to threaten the dog with the ncdl adverts "You'll go there if you don't behave see if you don't" :D :D
Now if this had been my FCR Libby, you would probably have found your son flat on his back as Libby pinned him down and was busy licking him to death  Needless to say, you won't find libby tied up outside any supermarket :D :D

Hi Liberty
I would have coped with pinned down and licked, it may have taught him a lesson!!!
Last week we had a poor yorkie owner running around in circles trying to keep his dog away from him. Max (my son) slipped his pram straps as the man and dog were walking passed, i made a grab for him and missed and the man, dog, myself and max running around in a circle with the man paniking because his dog doesn't like children and bites them, he was telling max this and max thinking it was funny saying 'doggy bite me'. In the end i had to shout which i dont do often and smack the back of his hand which i have never done. I had hoped that the smack would sort him out but obviously not, i think i might try a collar and lead next :)

I believe a halti is good on 2yr olds lol ;)
Osh Kosh dungarees were invented as toddler tamers - pick em up by the braces, hang em off a coat hook till they stop screaming, tie into pram using braces under anorak, the list is endless :D Max is sure to be a lovely teenager after doing his Damien Omen impersonation now. Bet you watch him asleep and think " How could I have been so angry with the little dumpling?" I did until they woke :D

If its any consolation to all of you, TrollGirl used to be a complete ***** we could take her anywhere twice - once to apologise ;) She was really hard work as a young child (I didn't have any more till she was 13!!) but is an angel now and we didn't have any of the teen crap that all her friends doled out either. TrollBoy is now 6 and still occasionally runs amok in the supermarket despite my best efforts to control him :( but is starting to understand that this is unacceptable. I found that the best way to deal with him is to turn my back and walk away (as long as its safe) saying "have a good life, hope you find a nice new family....etc" I find he's worse if he's hungry/tired or just has excess energy (he has a lot of energy, can walk all day if needed) like a spaniel pup he seems to need a lot of running around :)
Some of my friends kids were angels as youngsters but have really let rip as teens and caused some awful probs at home. I think its swings and roundabouts, if they are very naughty when young they have more opportunities to learn how to behave. (sounds like pups :D )

lol@dill
Unfortunately i've turned into my mother (i vowed not to ;) ) and i'm often seen on the telephone saying "Hello is that the naughty girls home" :D

I had 4 children 3 under 3 at the same time ( we lived in the middle of nowhere and had no t.v.) I hated going shopping that was a dread I usually when at night once a month, I thought it was all over when the got to teenages, then that was it disco night clubs still things got no better after college, while they were away I did not know what they were getting up to out of site out of mind, then came the wedding year I was please when my daughters had a double wedding, do not think I could go there again, just when I thought it was safe, they came back and brought there children. now have 11 grandchildren 1 great grandaughter. Now I am going through it again with Savannah she is 5 years old and I have had her since she was 2 days old I love her to death and would not have it any other way and I will be 70 before she is ready to leave home, but still look forward to her bed time. Can anyone tell me how they go on when they go to shows with there children, Do you take them or if you do not have anyone to look after them do you take them with you
