O.K. I'm going for the title of the most boring post :D
Jeangenie recommends it as a way of removing eye-stains, espescialy on white dogs.
John suggests it's excellent to use on Bee stings for dogs and people (for wasp stings use vinegar, also from John)
So what other uses does this unassuming little product have????????
I've just bought some today, in anticipation......
liberty :)
Crikey Mel, I only bought a little tub

;)
Thank you

Would be nice but the dog can't cook :D
Not sure what it's made from, but it's white and powdery, found in the cooking section in the supermarket (amongst flour, baking powder, etc). We used to make honeycomb with it, like you get inside crunchies!
I've mentioned before on here, that the opthalmologist told me to use it as eyewash for my dog, who has recurring bouts of conjunctivitis due to allergy. Dissolve a teaspoon full in a cup of water, and then wash the eyes out about 10 times a day. Seems to work okay.

I use it when cooking green veggies........it helps maintain the colour. Try about one teaspoon in with the spouts it certainly makes a difference.

bread soda or bicarbonate of soda has a lot of cures .
When we were young it was used for cold sores and eye wash, teeth , heartburn, cooking
and cleaning.:) lol a pharmacy in a bag.
So many things gone now from the counter like gentian violet which was used for cystitis and stye's
Iodine powder which could be put in water to what ever strenght needed .Carbolic for the floors .All gone and replaced by sprays and wet wipes .What a pity.
Mari
Cold sores?? I don't suffer from them, but my Mum does. Do you just mix it into a paste or something and put it on the offending area??
It is such a shame that so many traditional items aren't available now, I tried to get some Rose Water in Boots, with no luck :(
