
Hi, have discussed this a lot with my vet. She used to offer either stitch down or removal, but last year went to a seminar and a specialist told them that the stitch down only has a 30% chance of working, each time, the pattern being, if it doesnt work first time, do it again, if it pos again 2nd time, then remove. He advised no longer offering the stitch down - to much chance of too many GAs. So now sheonly does (and does them wonderfully well) removals again, like a few years ago. So far, we have never had a dry eye resulting. I know ther is a new "pouching" op abailable in the USA but dont know if anyone is doing it in UK yet
