Has anyone ever had a bitch that had 'favourites' amongst her pups? Right from the time she began to play with and discipline her puppies my lady (first litter) seemed to have one puppy that she particularly favoured and one that she was harder on. She was an excellent mum and cared for all the pups very well. I never felt that the 'disliked' pup was in any danger from her but she definitely seemed to play with that pup hardest and to tell it off more firmly than the others. The 'favoured' pup is one of the ones I kept and at 18 weeks and she still plays with it more than she does with the other. Its not that the 'disliked' puppy was particularly forward. The 'favourite' was equal first in the naughtiness stakes along with a male pup that she treated the same as the rest of the litter.
