Hi Kazz
yes, vet nurse rang me this morning to say there were no mites or fungal infections found (hurrah!!!!) :) but she explained that dogs carry a certain amount of bacteria on them which is completely normal but for some reason Gus has alot of this particular one. I was out and so she had left a message on my answerphone so I havent had a chance to speak to her yet . So not sure whether thats good news or bad

No I don't know either. But...if it's a unique kinda "illness" trust Gus to get it ;)

Took him back today as vet wanted to see whether there was any noticeable change in his feet . There is and hes not licking half as much but then again he hasnt been out for a while ( we wanted to get them cleared up a little). He is staying on the Relexin for another few weeks just to be sure . vet says he "could" have had contact with something in the past which has made him itch and because hes itching the skin is becoming open and therefore getting infected- resulting in a viscious circle .
Anyway todays trip cost me £105 !!! :( I nearly fell through the floor !  :(

Hi Lel,

How funny,  I just read all your posts about dog itchy feet.  What did your vet say was wrong with you dogs feet?

Hi Tammi
we have had skin scrapes and blood tests done now - as we werent sure whether it was allergy, contact related or mites . Turns out it is an abundance of normal doggy bacteria  For some reason he has more than the norm . Now on stronger antibiotics to try and clear it up but its taken a while to get to this point :(

Was it just on one foot? or more?  Did he have any other symptoms?  Thank You for being so helpful!

Hi Tami
it seems to be confined to the two front paws although more them right paw than the left for some reason . Thats why i asked if your dog was licking his paws ? It has cleared up lots, as it used to be red and inflamed and isnt now - just hope it stays that way :)

did it look like I described Tylers?  Red, thick looking skin, and some what bald. and about the size of a 3 leaf clover?  I have scene him lick it.  It's not real red right now. But still looks weird.
