hit here i would be very greatful for any help.my chihuahua went into labour at 4.30 this morning anyway an hour after she was very obviously in distress she was pushing and after a while a pup showed feet first.no way he was coming out
i pushed him back in hoping he would change position anyway the same thing happened again so me and my partner had to literally pull him out which wasnt easy at all.after this i took her to the vets.she had oxytocin injection the next 2 came quickly perfectly ok.the next one was breech  exactly the same as the first took 2 vets to take the pup out.it was dead the next one came perfectly normal and was born ok.
now my question is i do breed other toy dogs some have had breech births but managed to help the bitches along and everything has been fine.all perfectly healthy.just curious as to if anyone else had experienced this.
thankyou very much

According to the book of the bitch puppies are born in roughly equal numbers head first and feet first.  Feet first is not a breech presentation, a breech is bottom first which will c ause difficulty.

Feet first in my experience just takes a little longer to deliver, especially if it is the first puppy as in my own last litter, and a litter I whelped for a friend last week, this is because the head is wider than the hind end, and head first opens things up more.

Peoblems often arise in small breeds I have been told, as the pups are relatively speaking large compared to the size of the dam.
