Well, last night we picked up our labbie baby - a little black bitch who has a lot of Purdey's & Gypsy's line running through her:   she is, according to her breeder, a feisty little thing who looks as if she wouldn't say boo to a goose!   We brought Freya in, introduced her first to Granny Purdey, who was quite interested, gave her a good inspection, allowed Freya to do the same, then introduced her to Aunt Gypsy & Aunty Loki.   Gypsy was absolutely HORRIFIED  - its ANOTHER puppy!!   then she became interested:  this puppy has a tail like her....   Aunty Loki did the "Mum" things :  checked her ears, her bum & her toes.  Then we introduced her to Uncle Thor, who sniffed her all over - gave his seal of approval - as long as she doesn't come looking to him for bones, she'll do ;)  after this it was the turn of Beau and Vinnie - hey this puppy has a tail :D :D   Beau was quite gentle with her - that's his nature = but Vinnie has realised that this is someone who comes lower down the pecking order than her - she's the one who did the "stand over" - which was fine until Freya decided to scream her protest - then you would have thought all hell let loose - they all rushed to see what was the matter - Loki barked because Vinnie did, Thor barked to shut them up * Beau joined in, Gypsy cried & ran to Purdey who just barked to make sure that SHE was heard!    In the middle of all this, little Freya saw one of the cats & rushed over to her (it was Minime - Buster's shadow).  She jumped up onto a chair, under the table in the kitchen where she knows the dogs can't annoy her, but she can annoy them.   So life settled down to the usual hubbub that passes as tranquillity at Thorsoak, evening meals prepared & doled out to dogs in the usual order - Purdey 1st, down to Beau & Vinnie & Freya, who was put in her crate, with the door open, so that she could eat in peace, without being disturbed by the others ....she eat some of hers, sampled the others' dinners - got told off by Thor :D - then she wandered into the utility room where I was dealing with the cats - tried sampling the litter tray - big NOOO to that - and tried the cat food - much to the disgusted looks of the cats who looked at me as if to say - what right do you have to bring yet ANOTHER dog into this madhouse???

She settled beautifully though - she didn't cry at all, all night - left her crate in with Purdey & Gypsy and this morning she rushed out with Vinnie & Beau first into the garden, had a pee and a poo - lots of good girl, very good girl - Beau & Vinnie looked miffed at first - then rushed & did more wees so that they could be told that THEY were good girls & boys!

I'm off work today and tomoorow (which is why I ca get on Champdogs at lunchtime again :D), Adrian has next week off, Nick is off for 2 days the following week, we're arranging the puppy socialisation classes after her 2nd jab next week.

Purdey goes out into the garden with her every time I take her out for "widdly walks" - checks her over, and we keep telling Purdy that this is her baby.......don't know whether she will appreciate that fact when she grows & can play with the biggies :D :D

The cats keep turning their backs on me :(.......

And I think I've got my hands full with 2!! :D :D Incidentally, why Freya? I presume it's to complement Thor?
I'm interested because my grand-daughter is Freya - I think my son & his wife just thought it was a pretty name, which it is and she is....but then I'm biased....I also think my little Luke is the most beautiful boy lab pup ever...so Freya (canine) can be the most beautiful girl...

Well Daisy, it's just that we HAD to even up the lab numbers....... we are thinking about another aussie addition towards the end of this year after all!! (that is, if I retire then :D )

Anyway, this is PUrdey's baby :D

All these puppies are making me broody again - or whatever the term is for wanting a puppy! Congratulations on Freya and keep updating on the posse. Hows Catsenders, and my favourite Toilet Two?
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 22.01.04 17:12 UTC
The toilet two still have all their bits !

We're still not sure whether we have William & Charles or Wilhema & Charlotte!!!   The door to the utility room, where they keep court, is half glazed, and there is always one of them on sentry-go - so as soon as the door is opened, they disappear behind the washing machine!   They are two beautiful cats, and I'm beginning to think that they are girls - the heads aren't growing as big as the males do - and eventually, I KNOW they are going to be ready for a fuss - all the others get fussed in there and one day, they're just going to be fussed & then we'll find out what's what.   So, if they are girls, as long as I keep Buster out of the utility room (he'll think he's in heaven if he's allowed the run of the house!) I'm a bit better off until I can get them to Uncle Vet's.   The fact that they haven't as much as tried to get out the window (which is often left open for the others to come & go, says to me that these are laydeze....

In the summerhouse, that is Catsenders, Lonesome still reigns supreme - and HE'S still got all his bits.  I am going to have to get the cat trap for him - for a start if I don't, he & Buster will fight & Buster could drive him off (which I don't like.    Ms Fliss & Ms Midnight did join the City Life & now live in a Penthouse in Docklands!   He is great friends with Mini-me and Tabsy Fudge - I'm relaxed about that - they have had the op :D - so he isn't really Lonesome - but he will not cross the threshold & come inside - it's not that he's frightened of the dogs - I've seen him just crouch down low when the Mob erupts from house or kennels - he doesn't run from them - and he's batted a swipe at one or other of the Piddles from time to time!

Viva Toilet Two! Gothboy suggests Lonesome may be a vampire cat who is unsure whether or not hes invited into the house. Offer him some garlic and well see. :D

Hmm - maybe he'd like a nice plate of my lasagne!!!

Mind you - if the weather turns as bad as the forecasters are suggesting, I'm going to HAVE to get him inside - although Nik is insulating the summer house ...maybe they'd like a radiator in there.......

:D :D :D
