I have some what of a dilemma. About two years ago my wife underwent a major operation on her back and again went through the same operation about a year ago. Unfortunately I work away from home and for instance I was only home about 70 days last year. Given that my wife's mobility is severely restricted due to the operations she has had we are finding it difficult to keep our two year old Dobe exercised etc. Granted myself working away from home adds to this burden.

Over the last few months my wife's condition has deteareated somewhat and she has been advised by her doctors that exercising the dobe is detrimental to her well being. Unfortunately we really don't want to go through the tedious agony of trying to find Bailey a new home and Turning away every one who would phone our house with every good intention of providing a good home for our loved dobe. I thought of emailing yourself knowing that you have a lot of contacts within the Dobermann community and if you wouldn't mind helping us find a new loving home for Bailey. For information purposes his KC registered name is Gentol Gentleman, I believe that you already have him in your data base. This is probably the hardest thing either my wife or I have ever had to do, but I would like to feel that he has gone to somebody that will not only love him but will understand him.

I really hope that i can find him somewhere where he will find the love and caring that we give him here.

if you know of anyone who is intrested please pass on my Email Address

How tragic for you. Although this is a really hard decision for you, you are going about it the best way to ensure the ongoing well-being of Bailry and you and your wife.

Have you spoken to Bailey's breeder? Often pup's come with a contract explaining that the breeder should be contacted if the dog should need re-himong. Even if he didn't it's worth a try. Breeders often know of good homes waiting for a nice adult dog. S/He may also be able to give you the contact for your local/regional Dobe rescue.

I do have another idea that you may have considered already but, have you thought about a pet walker? Someone who can come in daily and give Bailey his exercise so that your wife doesn't have to deal with it?

It's going to be a painful time for you all. I do hope your wife improves and that you find the best solution to your predicament.

Good luck
