I have a 7 month old Jack Russell bitch and would like her to have one litter at least.  She's very beautiful, short legged, short haired, extremely friendly tri-coloured and I'd like to find a mate for her.  How do I got about this?  I've never bred from dogs before and am a complete novice.  Michelle in Devon

You must not breed from her until she is 18 months to 2 years of age she is much to young un til then
you could have lots of problems if she is to young so you have plenty of time to find a mate, but please think very hard before you do as there are hundreds of little JR  in rescues all over the country.

Guest, why don't you join the boards and you'll receive lots of advise about mating your dog. Most of it will be not to do it but at least you will hear the very valid reasons behind it.

As Corso Girl said you have at least another year to think about it and I'd suggest you get a copy of 'The Book of The Bitch' to read in the meantime.
