Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / update on whistle training

Thought I would update you all on Shadows progress with his whistle training,
IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He has come back EVERY time when he was in full flight after another dog, much to me and my partners amazement. Great when you think that I only bought the whistle last week, he just seems so intrigued when we blow the whistle, that he comes racing back to see what is going on.

Hello Shadow, - but what happens when the novelty wears off? A whistle is not a magic wand.

Dogs easily learn to come back when called, but what their Owners do not teach them is to come back IMMEDIATELY. This takes time and effort.

There is no 'magic wand' in dog training!

Whoever 'invents' it though (whistle or wand) will be very rich!!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Denise.
