A couple of years ago I bought my mum a dog bed for her lab from a game fair.  It is a soft, cotton/fleecy type with sides that can be machine washed and cost about £25.  She now wants another one and it's not quite game fair season yet!  Of course I can't really remember the name of the people I got it from although have in mind it was something like Val's Pet Beds!!  I can't track them down anywhere.

Can anyone suggest a suitable web-site for low-cost beds for labs?

Go to your local charity shop or dry cleaners and get a second hand duvet!!

Jesse, that's certainly what I do for mine for their kennel.  Mum is in her 80's and has her beautiful lab for company and to keep her active, he's her very dear companion and she likes to spoil him!

I went to a charity shop and picked up a cot mattress for £3 (get them from boot sales etc. too) it's great cos it can be wiped down when it needs cleaning and is very comfy.  I made a cover for it by cutting a single duvet cover in half then sewing up the one end and slipping it over, then you can take it off to wash with the prestards on the one side :-)  There's a pic of it on my site (on my profile) under dog piccies.

Lots of places sell childrens fleece snuggle beds we got ours from Home Base its like a small sleeping bag but it has a zip across the top, ours cost £5.00 put a duvet inside zip it up and the dog loves it!!.
Plus you can take the duvet out and wash the cover easily.
