I'm buying my partner an Alaskan Malamute (dog) for his birthday in three weeks.
I've done my research and I need to contact a breeder.
We live in Staffs (Birmingham's our nearest city)
Please give me some assistance Thank you in advance for your help

Contact the Kennel Club and ask for a list of breeder with puppies, but you will be very very lucky if you can locate a Malamute puppy in the next 3 weeks, would have thought that there would be a waiting list of anything up to 2 years for a good puppy. Sorry if you can't find what you want, but please do not resort to buying from a pet shop. Jackie H

Hi Anne
Jackie is totally right you might have to wait for anything up to 2 years for a Malamute puppy. They are a number of Breeders listed with Champdogs and a few of them do check the messages. Have a look through the list of Breeders though to access their details you need to click on Search, then Guided Search and then select Working Group and then Malamute and Breeders.
My neighbours have a Mal Puppy and he is just adorable :D
Good luck in your search.

Hi Anne,
I'm afraid if you want a pup from a reputable breeder you will have to wait much longer than three weeks. As far as I'm aware there are no pups available at the moment. All reputable breeders will insist on meeting you (and your partner) before adding your name to their waiting list.
Contact the breed club secretary (Roger Cruden ashamsky@aol.com) for a list of breeders, or me if you would like any further info.

There are often adverts in the exchange and mart for Mals but they aren't pedigrees (apparently lol, don't want to be slanderous) perhaps the part about them being long coated with blue eyes is a bit of a give away.
