Just wondered who do you all think will win this year.
I know you can never tell but there must be some favorites between you

I think it maybe the Giant Schnauzer Ch Jafrak Philiippe Olivier

Not me, though i did look at some suits last week, then decided to try and lose some weight before i bought one....no doubt when i go back, the suit i liked will have gone and i should have bought it last week. As for winning don't think it will be me.

Got mine Gwen in the sales at Christmas.  Really smart longline red jacket and Black trousers.  Not going to win though.  We can all dream cant we.  Think the Tibetan Terrier Fabulous Willy is in with a really good chance.

Well, I got my Pug showing outfit last year!  This is not a sign of extreme organisation, I got it for LKA and then Mabel decided to get a patch of wet excema, and ended up with a bald spot the size of a 50p on her shoulder.  This is actually my first time IN the ring at Crufts, coz she is my first show Pug (no I do not handle the Americans - leave that all up to Mikie, I am a very bad handler or Yankees!)  As she has not got a hope in hell we are just going for a nice day out.  Still thinking about something for Gundog day - we have a whole bunch entered so will be rooted to the spot ringside.

On our mad shopping trip whilst in Philadelphia last week friends I was with all managed to get a Crufts outfit (in fact Susan got 2)  The sales were still on, and the range of sizes and styles was fantastic.  Was very jealous I did not need 1 (made up for it by buying 4 pairs of shoes)  The 3 girls I was shopping with varied greatly in size, 1 is on the large size (like me) but quite tall, 1 an English 10 - 12 but a bit pear shape, and 1 a tiny, petite 4'11", fitting into a size 2 over there.  And guess what - there was an amazing choice for all of them.  Shame UK supplliers dont cater for such a range.

I feel that all we Champdoggers are going to look so smart at Crufts this year! (and look forward to seeing you there, Lea)

Hi Peanuts,
Personally I would like it to be Am.Ch Thornapple Climate Controlled, a.k.a Lorenzo, the Australian Shepherd...... but I suppose I am biased seeing as Jayne his owner, is my best mate !!!!!!!
It would be a fitting tribute to an awesome dog........ but I have a sneaky feeling it may be either the Giant Schnauzer, Ch. Jafrak Phillippe Olivier, or the Saluki, Ch. Mabrooka Jayid....
Anyway, just over 7 weeks to go and counting !!!!! :-D

What I have found in the past is whoever is tipped as a definte winner usually does not get it!  I remember going back a few year, when we went to the Chum stand to collect some awards, the word going round was that is was absolutley, definetly, going to a Samoyed (cant remember which one), with the Akita as a 'stand by' in case of unexpected disasters!  BIS was the Yorkie, with Am. cocker Res.

How about the Chii?  He has been looking very good all year?

Think it might be the new Staffie cc record holder....

Geoff :)

Saying that , we heard at Crufts last year as long as the Papillion did not make the group the Peke would win it.
Funny that!!

Yep, we heard that one too, always one to prove a theory wrong, isn't there?  I know quite a few papillion people were frustrated to death with the TV crews all over the place.

Had a thought, can we do one of the poll thingys?  We could propose/nominate or whatever the dogs we think/want to win the groups, BIS/RBIS and then see how close we get to the actual results.

You can look at the dogs that have won the groups at other championship shows and go back through the records and see what the BIS judge likes and make an educated quess, if you can be bothered. Wonder why people do not quess who is going to win The National this year or the Welsh Kennel Club, guess it must be the power of TV, 'cause outside the show dog world, no one cares.

Dogpapers usually do a bit about the TV progs. when BBC release it to them, so you can paln in advance for recording etc!  Tends to be a bit more detailed than the TV papers bit.
