That smells of witch hunting to me, and after reading your post on another thread, maybe your name should be top of the list.

For goodness I thought we were adults on this board can't we all accept that very few of us know each other personally and the written word is a very strange medium and very easy to take wrongly.

Life is to short for this, Live and let live.  Or in other words if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.
- By amyleigh [us] Date 18.01.04 18:18 UTC
What list would you be referring to-The Rude List!I was never rude until a few people started talking to me like I was stupid. So unless you've read every post that has concerned me,then I'll have to say you just don't know what you're talking about.
- By Lady Dazzle [gb] Date 18.01.04 18:26 UTC
I rest my case and repeat Chill out!!!!

This is starting to sound like a child in a playground.
- By ice_queen Date 18.01.04 18:36 UTC
hey Lady dazzle!!!

Totally agree with a childs playground!! reminds me of school where everyone is saying stupid paftic things because they don't hear what they want to hear.

can i also just say in amyleighs defence, ive been reading the replies to her posts and some of them are very rude and patronising......please only post "advice" to someone if you can do so in a civil manner and without "lecturing" or patronising. inexperienced people need help not critisism.
- By amyleigh [us] Date 18.01.04 18:36 UTC
Thank you so much for reading the post concerning me,before commenting,I wish everybody else would.I have been treated very unfairly since I've been on here and do not appreciate it a bit. But,I will continue to use this site because there are a few, very nice and helpful people on here.I just want the rude ones to know, what ever you throw at me will be thrown back!!!
- By lel [gb] Date 18.01.04 18:13 UTC
I have read replies that werent in the least bit rude and the original poster has replied in a rude manner themsleves taking offence when there has been none :(

It works both ways
- By pauliedee [fr] Date 18.01.04 18:25 UTC
WOW!!!!  i never thought there would be soooo many replies to this post!!! i would have replied earlier but i had loads of problems logging in for some reason..........anyone else had this problem? i would just like to say to john, i have recently joined this forum and did not make the post you seem to think i did about being reunited with a puppy owner (?????) im sorry but you have me mixed up with someone else. also, the reason we use the DLRC to register pups from previous litters we bred, is because a) they are cheaper than the KC, 2) our dogs were purebred and had pedigrees, but were not registered with the KC 3)we have no interest in showing and the pups we bred went to likeminded pet homes, where the owners were not bothered about KC reg. obviously there is some stigma attatched to the DLRC but personally, i see nothing wrong with their scheme, and many thousands of other bredders use them. sorry you have a problem with them, but please dont jump to wrong conclusions, it is very unfair and insulting
- By mygirl [gb] Date 18.01.04 18:31 UTC
If the owners are not bothered about kc then i wouldn't even bother with DLRC and as for reason a) they charge £8 now so to compare that with  only £12 for the KC an extra £4 is hardly going to break the bank. So if you're truly hard-up and can't afford the extra £4 it sort of questions why some people breed in the 1st place.
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 18.01.04 18:36 UTC
Mygirl, don't think the dogs that pauliedee, bred were KC registered so she/he could not register them with the KC but I am puzzled as to why bother to register them anyway.
- By mygirl [gb] Date 18.01.04 18:42 UTC
I know Jackie that why i wonder why she bothers if the prospective owners aren't even bothered?
All i can see is it's purely to enable breeders of non-kc reg to have some sort of paperwork to give to the unsuspecting buyer (or even to keep the selling price the same as a kc reg dog.)

Hi

I really don't understand the point of registering with the DLC? Can someone enlighten me? Thanks :)
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 18.01.04 18:33 UTC
pauliedee, would be interested in why you registered the pups with DLR, we know they are cheaper but what is the point. It serves no purpose except when you are advertising your pups for sale and you can say they are registered.

Not trying to be confrontational but would like to know why anyone would do so, what were your thoughts at the time and would you do it again.
- By liberty Date 18.01.04 18:38 UTC
Forgive me if I've missed something here, but if the parents weren't K.C. reg, the pups could NOT be shown, and if the new owners  then wished to breed from them, they could then register the subsequent litter (for what it's worth) with the DLRC.

So wasn't it a waste of money registering your pups??

Think you can register anything with the DLRC you tell them what the pedigree is and they charge you for making a note of it. recon I could register an imaginary litter now if I could be bothered. Happy for someone to tell me different, in fact, I would be pleased but when you see dogs names like - Daddies Girl X Big Town Boy and so on down the ancestral list it does not instil much confidence.
- By Carla Date 18.01.04 18:47 UTC
So, the DLC is just a way of saying a pup is "registered"....so they make money out of breeders and breeders make more money out of potential purchasers by saying the pup is registered? Is that how it works? :)
- By mygirl [gb] Date 18.01.04 19:00 UTC
Yep Chloe that's the short of it. Have a look on the website you can even write down yourself the 3 generations.
- By Carla Date 18.01.04 19:01 UTC
Interesting commercial enterprise, aimed at innocent puppy owners. The only ones making anything out of this are the directors of the DLC.
- By archer [gb] Date 18.01.04 18:48 UTC
My problem with the DLRC is that is misleading to anyone who 'knows no better'.I have spoken to several people who have purchased pups with DLRC and are unaware of the fact it is not 'the proper' registration..i.e KC.
These people were told that the pups were registered...full stop. And those that questioned it were told that it was 'as good as' KC just cheaper..no explanation that there is no proof to the info on it
These people ahve been conned...exactly what the DLRC is helping unscrupulous breeders do to innocent people who know no better

Goodness, trust me to get to the party late!
Just had to say , that in my experience 99 0/0 of people on here have always been more than friendly to me when I asked a bit of a dense question.  Yes, I know a bit about my breed, and the dog sport I'm interested in (Working Trials), and yes,If you ask me a question, I'll try to answer it, but I also understand the responsibility of answering that question. I don't know much about, for instance aggression in GSDs (this is only an example, honestly!), but because I don't, I wouldn't dream of giving people advice that could have bad consequences, either for the dog, or for them.  I also didn't expect someone who asked for advice, saying that they were experienced dog people, when given it, to just say 'sorry, thats not what I want to hear, please don't bother' unless they give me the reason why.  The written word is a powerfull thing, and even the most experienced of us will admit, that sometimes somethings 'come out' wrongly on here.  What I hope comes across is that if you ask , advice will be given, but if you don't, support is still there for you.  I would like to think that I've made some real friends here-even if I never meet them in the flesh.
Be nice people, If you read something on here that makes you mad, do what I do, read it again, sleep on it, then answer it the next day. It will save someone writing something that they really might not mean at all ( and it will help your blood pressure)
Ali :)
(I've often found that the use of 'smileys' helps to set the tone of the conversation as well :)

Can i stae paulidee that what you say is only your opinion.  On another board someone is saying how nice and helpful we are.

It makes me wonder if you are the one causing the problems!

- By amyleigh [us] Date 18.01.04 19:05 UTC
I can assure you she's not the one trying to cause problems!!!!
- By ice_queen Date 18.01.04 19:17 UTC

- By mygirl [gb] Date 18.01.04 19:21 UTC
I think you'll find it's amyleigh and pauliedee ooh they rhyme how funny.
- By liberty Date 18.01.04 19:25 UTC
:D  :D  :D
- By ice_queen Date 18.01.04 19:26 UTC
LOL mygirl you dont think....two names same person???  LOL

Thats who I mean.  It is mainly paulidee causing trouble from what I can see and amyleigh joining in.  I think the problem is no-one like them so all they want to do is insult us people.

Rox
- By amyleigh [us] Date 18.01.04 19:32 UTC
I don't know anything about Paulidee, except she has been treated unfairly, like I have. All we're doing is defending ourselves. Why don't you try to put yourself in our shoes.Wouldn't you defend yourself??
- By Lady Dazzle [gb] Date 18.01.04 19:26 UTC
Listen guys

I am starting to feel deja vu. Trip trap springs to mind especially as there are now three separate threads gettings nasty all involving the same two people.

We have been here before not so long ago and I would suggest that the thread is allowed to die a death, as it is going round in circles.

Just my opinion for what it is worth. :-D

I'm getting the same idea Jayne! Two minds, one thought? Or is it one mind one thought???
- By ice_queen Date 18.01.04 19:38 UTC
think with these people the only way it will happen is if admin steps in!
- By amyleigh [us] Date 18.01.04 19:28 UTC
You got it!!I won't back down.I can take it as long as you can dish it out.Can you?
- By lel [gb] Date 18.01.04 19:38 UTC
I thought you came on the Board for advice and not for childish games ????
- By John [gb] Date 18.01.04 19:35 UTC
If you would like to check back Pauliedee you will find that I was not referring to you in that post.

An apology would be nice? Not expected though.
