My pup is usually fed hill's Science plan puppy food and it spends about 30seconds in the bowl before it is all gone. however, over the last few days he seems to be loosing interest in it. he seems fine in himself, but equally struggles with his biscuit treats. we have tried some wet food (pedigree chum puppy). he is more interested in this, but seems to lick it up as opposed to eating it.
Could this be a teething problem, or something more serious? He appears to have all his adult teeth now, but is certainly increasing his chewing activity.
Stools etc seem to be regular and firm
A lab off his food

the only time Toby has been off his food was when he was teething, and he goes off his food when i worm him, otherwise im sorry i dont know but im sure someone will be able to help,
Heidi

How are his teeth? are all his adult teeth through now? have a look at the gums & see if they look sore?
How are his poohs?has he been this morning? has he been sick at all?

Is he active? How many feeds a day is he getting? How does he feel? (Thin and bony or plump and well covered?)
Puppy's food requirements change as they grow. A young puppy cannot manage much and needs many small meals.
As he gets a little larger so his stomach gets bigger. He is growing fast and needs lots of food to sustain this growth.
A little older still and the growth starts to slow and the food requirement reduces. You are now only maintaining the size of the dog, not feeding for growth.
First and most important. If he is slow, lethargic and loosing weight get him to a vet quickly.
If he's is fit, active and well covered he may just not be hungry and is naturally reducing his intake. You are also at the point now where I would be changing from puppy to adult food.
Best wishes, John

thank you all for your replies. he has eaten a good meal last night and again for breakfast. he also has the usual manic lab energy - no change there.
looking at your replies, it seems it could be down to a combination of teething and recently moving from 3 to 2 meals a day. i'll keep an eye on him over the next few days and see how he goes.
