Oh dear god don't put him in the front seat, he will be too much of a distraction. :D
You can buy a harness that will attach to your dog and the rear seatbelt, or you could get a guard and put pup in the boot or even buy a crate (you can get travel ones) to pop him in.

Ours is called Hi-Control Safety Harness by Hi-Craft. They come in various sizes and are easy to use.
As already mentioned dont put pup into the front seat - he will eventually have to move to the back anyway as he gets older so you may as well start in the back now
Think ours was about £14
For more info have a look here www.hi-control.com

several of the dogs who come in for grooming wear seat belts bought at Pets at Home superstores. Not usre how suitable they will be for a pup, depending on breed. As posted above why not opt for a traveling cage until pup is a bit older?

Lily the lurcher pup started off with a seat belt straight away (made by canac) AND she sat in the front seat and didnt distract me in the slightest, she just sat and looked out of the window and then went to sleep. She now goes in the back behind a dog guard to save my seats from her hair, and she doesnt mind about that either ........... maybe I just have an exceptionally good pup :D :D
I wouldn't put my dog on the front seat (with seat belt harness) as I would be worried about the consequences of the airbag being activated. Same logic as babies on the front seat.

I agree montysmum, in an accident whose to say the dog won't shoot about all over the place alive or dead and put serious injury on the driver.
The safest option is to have to have it secure and in the back either backseat or boot (i prefer boot).
I do not like putting the dogs in the boot - if someone crashes into the back of you then the first thing they go into is the dog.

my car isnt that flash .... it doesnt have a passenger air bag :D :D
