I have a cocker spaniel bitch and have been considering having a litter from her. She is still young so I have not begun an indepth search for her perfect partner. I was wondering what health screens are standard practice for this breed? I have done a fair bit of reading into the subject and am aware that eye tests are essentially a must but is it neccesary to get hip scores as well in this breed?

Think if you have not done so joining one of the breed clubs would help and talking to the bitches breeder who will help you chose the best lines to look at when you are searching for a stud. The club will tell you what tests are advised and the age at which they consideder the pup will be old enough to be bred from, also their policy on returned pups etc.
