I am starting a kennel soon and I need information on how to raise, train, sell, and buy Beagle puppies.  I live in
Mississippi, United States of America.  I am a teenager, but my father is helping me, because it has been my
lifelong dream to be a veternarian and to raise beagles.  I am very committed to animals and I believe that it will
help me to raise Beagles.  I hope someone can gine me the information I need.  Thank you for your time.

Do you want to be a breeder is that what you mean?
I think you need to research the breed first before you make any decisions, go to dog shows and talk to the breeders you can get alot of info off them.
Why don't you join there are loads of breeders and owners that would give you good advice.
Good luck on being a vet :)

Hi Carrie

A full time job and breeding dogs in a compassionate and responsible manner do not go together.  If you wish to be a vet you have years of sudying before you and you should do this before you get involved in breeding - you will not be able to do both properly.

Breeding dogs is not just putting two dogs together, it is learning about your chosen breed, living with them for years to find out about their idiocryancies so that when the time comes you have puppies you will be able to be on hand to advise their owners thoughout their lives if any problems arise.

There are too many "breeders" who just want to breed dogs as a cash crop without thought or care as to what happens once they leave their premises.

I work full time and very rarely breed my dogs, but I do it in a compassionate and responsible manner!!  I can only do this though through having great parents who help me with my dogs and pups, if I was on my own there's no way that I could do it.  Though have to say couldn't do it as a business.  I hope that I breed to improve my breed and after 11 years of owning them I know that I still don't know half of what there is to know about my breed.

Don't want to put you off but as Kerioak says it's hard enough, it's hard enough with one dog to breed from  and work full time but to have a number of them straight away you will really have your work cut out.  There's a lot of joy to be had owning dogs but there's also a lot of heartache.  Don't forget to do all of the health checks etc. on your dogs as well.
