Ok, this is a funny one. My 12 week old pup has recently got very friendly with soft toy - he thinks its a lady puppy. He does this a lot especially in front of any visitors. Although I know that this is normal for a dog - do I take the toy away from him and try to stop him?
Thanks

My puppy used to do this too, and it was only with this one particular stuffed animal. We'd let him have it when he was bored and we needed to distract him for a while. But if he's embarrassing you in front of guests, just don't give it to him then (we don't!)

just be grateful its not your leg!!!!!! :D
and my GIRL used to do it all the time as well. THought I'd avoided that by getting a female.

My friend came round at Christmas and my dog did it to her leg! I was black affronted as he's never shown any signs of mounting anything before. Luckily she found it very amusing and confirmed her belief that all males find her irresistible :D

They do grow out of it, must say I ignore it but if it worries you then take the toy away and try to distract him when he starts on something else.
lily is the same, she has one particular fluffy toy (multicoloured dumbell) that she occasionally humps, yes a SHE ! most embarrassing, if not somewhat amusing :)

my 6m shih tzu is partial to a particular cushion, which he carefully folds in half and then gives it a 'good seeing to'!! If it's embarrassing then the cushion is removed, but he has never really tried it with anything else, so i reckon just let him get on with his own doggy stuff...

Yep my little 6 mth JR has a stuffed yellow lab dog which he would jump on and fly all around the living room... had lots of toys since but the little fave toy was destroyed... he has no stuffed toys now as he eats them!
