can anyone tell me if you can register pups in the kennel club when only the mother has k/c papers and not the father ? someone told me you can but im not sure.

you can regsiter them with the DLRC but not the KC, we use the latter as they half the price of kc papers £6 per puppy ;-)

I am sure that both sets of parents have to be kc reg before you can register the litter.

You can't register with the KC and I wdn't bother with the DLRC as it's only a piece of paper that's not worth the paper it's printed on.  You wdn't be able to show your dog at KC run shows except for COmpanionship Shows, so you might as well save your £6 too!!

If it's a working breed and you want to work the dogs then the KC have a special register but I don't know the full details on this I'm sure that someone could help you though.

Registering them with the dog lovers isn't worth the paper it's written on. Have a search on CD for DLRC you will find loads of info.

Pauliedee,

Maybe think you are saving money in registration by using the DLRC but you are throwing your money down the drain. The DLRC pedigree has as much worth as a hand written one unless backed with KC papers.

Whatever or whoever convinced you the DLRC was the way to go..

It is commonly used by puppy farmers.

Sorry but even though I sat on my fingers some sneaked out..

both parents must be registard to registar with the KC.

The DLRC will not be worth registring as it doesn't give you anything except from  pieces of paper worth nothing!!!

No, puppies can't be KC registered unless both parents are also KC registered. Don't be fooled by any other registration - it's meaningless.

Not only is it meaningless it is where puppy farmed pups are registered and I would not want a pup of mine registered with them. You can register companion dogs with the KC but I don't have the details but I would not part with £6 for any other sort of registration it serves no purpose at all, you would be better off having the dog chipped and getting it registered with the chip registration people at least that has some purpose.
