Well it's been an eventful week, clean from Saturday morning until Tuesday morning (at night) then disaster struck!

She had been given alternative advice and tried that and clean the next morning, the advice was a bit drastic which she now agrees herself so won't be trying it again, and it didn't work. So Thursday night last let the dog out at 11.30pm got up at 4am mess already there! Cleaned up, back up 5.30 mess again cleaned up! Husband got up at getting up time mess again.

Oh dear.......................

Ahhh, this relates to an earlier post I put up called 'I really don't want to ask this now', hence your confusion:) I was asked to come back and give an update and I never turn down an invite......:)

How's your crinkley friend? Just bought a new iron by the way......

Haven't been following this thread, but just a thought and I could be off centre here :o

If recently anyone has come down to the dog and then told it off severly for any mess in the kitchen, the dog won't know why it has been told off, but it will associate the coming down with the telling off. Next time it hears someone coming down it could well mess in fright as it thinks it will be told off again. (Basically the start of action association and learned behaviour) This could possibly account for why there were three messes in a relatively short amount of time.

Sarah you could be on to something there, if that is what has been happening, the pup will possibly be reacting out of anxiety as you say. A sensitive pup will even react to a grumpy body language and most owners would be displaying this by this time!! Even if not meaning to. :)

Hello Sarah
No one has told it off, this is a puppy they have bred themselves and kept from the litter because he was very poorly. The accidents started happening when his last litter mate left and seem to have no particular pattern to them, sometimes he does sometimes he doesn't! When he does he is ignored when he doesn't luv and affection shower down upon him!

Hi Reefer

My suggestion won't be of help then :( Just felt it was worth a mention as I didn't know the background.

Where is the Mother in all this? and are there any other dogs in the household?
- By Reefer [gb] Date 09.03.02 11:17 UTC
That's OK, it's hard to know how much to put in a post people might start nodding off!

Mum and Dad both live there, and sleep in the same room near if not next to the puppy. She has even tried putting Mum in with the pup at night and even that didn't help. Hopefully it's just going to a time thing....

Oh yes,i forgot he had been poorly, it's all coming back now :)

I wonder if he has maybe messed in his crate and now just is confused and feels it is OK to go there?

Would it be worth setting up some sort of video of him at night to see what actuallyhappens? Is that possible at all? Sounds odd but who knows...!!

LOL Lindsay. I am just picturing this great pair of eyes looking into the camera and then a big bum doing its business!!! Sorry but feeling down about Barney and you cheered me up. Regards Gina

And what do we call this movie then:D answers on a postcard please........ Joking aside I might suggest it because as far as I can tell I don't know what else she can do as he is clean all day, this only happens at night and he's not left alone and it doesn't happen every night there are breaks in the behaviour.
