Hi Have just started ringcraft with Caleb- 16 wk old beagle, and he was really good, stood on the table, let the handler check him all over and he walked reasonably well on the show lead and turned. I was moving too fast though through nerves I think. When we arrived he arrrrrohed a lot to announce his arrival and he met some grown up beagles too, so a good night was had by all. Onwards and upwards as they say now.

Took my puppy to his first ringcraft on Monday but unlike yours all mine did well was to practices his socialisation skills with a Rottie bitch of the same age. So next week we had better work on leave that dog alone skills. Difficult with pups to strike a balance between encouraging the pups to mix and play and teaching them not to interfere with other dogs.

Hi Beaglebonkerz. Glad the ringcraft went well. Mine go into ringcraft and announce their arrival every week. I think its excitement. We found the table the hardest part to crack so if hes standing nicely now thats really good.

You can hear Gus as soon as we get out of the car :D
My 2 youngs ones characters go in complete reverse when at the training.Sox is quiet and reserved but at the ringcraft she goes mad and loves everybody and won't leave the other dogs alone etc, whereas Shady is the wild child but calms down completely from when we get in the van, even at the class she just lies beneath my chair and puts up with everybody going by her and only gives a wee sniff to the dogs in front of her, strange things these dogs!!

Hi Beaglebonkerz,
glad the ringcraft went well - and that you got to meet other beagles. I never thought Willow would calm down - either she wouldn't stand still or she wouldn't walk - however after 16 months she eventually seems to be getting there!! so I'm really pleased for you that Caleb is doing so well. See you soon at the beagle shows!
