Topic Dog Boards / General / treats dont work for Toby
- By heidleberg [gb] Date 13.01.04 11:03 UTC
As some of you know at the weekend i made liver cakes for Toby, he is doing very well with his training but when i take my son to school Toby gets very excited, he loves children, ive tried giving him treats including the liver cakes he loves them and i thought he might be more tempted but it didnt work he isnt interested, the only thing that seems to work is telling him to sit and wait when any children come to stroke him, bless him he does as he is told but when they stroke him he wants to play and i have to watch he does not jump at them,
Toby is 10 months now, am i doing the right thing he is improving but slowly, any suggestions would be appreciated

Age .....sounds to me like Toby is getting into adolescence or the 'Kevin' stage ;) :D Just keep at it and keep on top of him gently and he WILL eventually listen and learn :)

It depends on the breed generally ..Hudson (Malamute) began his at about 10 months and became a lovely boy at about 18 months ;) He still has moments now but nothing like the defiance of a year ago :D :D
