Topic Dog Boards / Health / Cavalier King Charles Puppy - Being Sick
- By Tracym [gb] Date 12.01.04 13:06 UTC
I have a 4 and half month old Cavalier King Charles puppy.  I am worried about her, Firstly she has a green spot on one of her pads on her foot and I am not sure if this is just a spot or if it something I should be worried about.

Also she keeps being sick or trying to be sick.  I am taking her to the vets tonight to get this checked.  I am not sure if it is because of her food.   I used to feed her on pedigree puppy sachets and moved her over to the tins, but I did not do this gradually as I thought they were the same, but they are not.  I moved her over to the tins long before Christmas.  However, she keeps being sick, sometimes after she has eaten other times during the night, she is either sick or reaches like she wants to be sick but is not.  This has been going on for a couple of weeks on and off and I am taking her to the vets tonight.  We are now in the middle of moving her from pedigree puppy to NatureDiet as I have heard this is meant to be better for her, we are doing this gradually.  We only started doing this yesterday.

She sleeps with us in our bed, because she did not settle in the kitchen, I was also concerned that she was too hot at night and that also made her sick, but when she is hot she lays of top of the blanket.  She has woken us up Saturday and Sunday early morning because she is trying to be sick.  It is awful seeing her like this.  I am taking her to the vets tonight but I wanted to know if anyone had any advice.

Many thanks

oh dear tracym.

I am afraid I have no great advice for you except to say you are doing the right thing with your pup.  Hope all goes well with the vet and no long terms problems there.

My cavs are fantastic poo eaters not there own but horse, rabbit etc.  When there tummies are off I start feeding them a little scramble egg or cooked chicken breast before going back on to the normal food.

Good Luck
