Sorry this post is similar to my last one (messing in cage) only that was Rio.
I've come down this morning to a terrible mess in Toesy's (11 months)
It seemed to be a mixture of loose and firm, but loads of loose, which seemed to be coated in a slimy film.
I don't understand it as he's had nothing different. He's fed on Nature Diet and seems to be doing very well on it. I usually put a handful of biscuits with it (small bite mixer) which also seems to suit him.
He did have this accident last week also, but I put it down to adding a small handful of some pedigree puppy complete which I got free, into his nature diet as I'd ran out of his normal biscuits. I have since binned it.
But he is was back to normal straight away, no more runs. He was purely on Nature Diet for the next couple of days, then I started putting his biscuits back in, but surely they are not the problem as he'd had no problem previously.
I've had to leave this post for 10 mins while I've been cleaning up another big mess he has made, (of the gravy substance) He is totally off colour, he looks down in the dumps too.
If I think back to last night too, I remember thinking he wasn't himself, finding it hard to settle.
Any Ideas what could be the cause of it.
What should I do, should I go back to just the Nature Diet just on it's own, to see if it is the biscuits, or is there something else I should feed him on while he's got an upset tummy, or would it be better to completely miss a feed or two to get rid of it. Or do you think a visit to the vets is necessary.

Morning Mitch,
I would leave him 24 hours, with nothing other than fresh water. Then gently inroduce him back slowly small quantaties over the next day.
I wouldn't go the vet YET unless he is poorly poorly -if you understand me. He might feel a bit under the weather and if he's like most Staffies he will be making sure eveyone knows :)

Well my lurking days are obviously over. Looks like I'm back :)
Honey had a similar problem over Xmas (lucky us!), I put it down to her disappearing the day before, she'd probably eaten something she shouldn't, lasted nearly a week on and off, then totally back to normal. Could he have eaten something he shouldn't?

Thanks everyone.
I thought it would be best to let him go without for the day, but just wanted other opinions.
I'm quite sure he hasn't eaten anything he shouldn't have, unless of course it was something he picked up on his walk, and he wolfed it down really quickly so I wouldn't notice. But I'll never know.
Nice to see you back Karen, :) thought you would find it too difficult to stay away :D
Toesy says thanks for the hug Wishfairy :D and he and Rio get on fantasticly, it's lovely to see them together especially when they are asleep all snuggled in.
I had to go to work for an hour this morning, so I put them both in the big cage, with bed and newspaper. When I came back it was still clean, so fingers crossed it is all out of him. He also seems much better in himself thankfully
Thanks again for the quick responses.
Michelle.

That didn't take long :D You are obviously addicted! :D
Think Champdogs needs to set up its own Support Group to help people overcome their addictions :D Could call it the CDA (Champ Doggers Annoymous)

Hiya when mine had that slimy film over the pooh my vet said it was a touch of colitus and to add a spoonful of bran to their meal and a different vegetable to normal it worked fine.

Well I'm up now. And hope Tosey is feeling better. He may well have eaten something you know how fast they are :)
Yes Staffie I know I'm addicted, my Doctor is working on a cure :D
