Hi,
Just a question for all you amazing dog people out there!
Tundra was neutered on Tuesday and since then he has had so much energy. It's like they shoved a rocket up his butt!! He hasnt stopped running around the house since. Before he was fairly active but kinda lazy, now he's jumping around like a lunatic. The vet told me to make him rest but I can't get him to keep still. Is this normal after neutering? I always thought it calmed dogs down.
Any thoughts will be appreciated!
Kind regards,
Charlene

I imagine it's just pent up energy from not being allowed out. Once he gets back into his normal routine i expect he'll settle (although don't quote me as i have a bitch).

Charlene,
Neutering does not come dogs down, for a male the most it will do is stop any potential of wandering off for bitches in season. Your boy may just be overagitated from the surgery or reacting from the anesthetic. It would certainly be too soon for him to be responding to a change in hormone level.

Thanks a lot for your input, I am hoping to have a calmer day today! I have never seen him so bouncy! He is jumping over chairs but do you think I can get him to jump in the back of my Jeep?!?! Oh no, he likes me to pick him up and put him in there!!
