I have a 12 month old lab ( by poolstead) can anyone advise how much food my lab should get a day i.e what quantity and how many times. I am obviously aware that labs tend to gain weight quickly so don't want to over feed but at the same time fon't want to under feed! he weighs about 5 stone now. If anyone can help I would be really grateful.

That will all depend on what food you are giving him and any treats etc you offer.

he has complete eukanuba but does have quite a few treats in training. he also has a bit of meat on his eukanuba. the vet asys he is looking well and is not overweight so I will probably keep him as he is.

Dogs are like us; some can eat like pigs and remain athletic, some (especially a lot of gundogs and me) only have to inhale the aroma of something tasty and the pounds pile on :D

And you must also remember that this changes over time... as a one-time eat anything girl who now can't even see a picture of chocolate without gaining a few pounds :(
