can anyone tell me how i can slow my 5 month old dogue de bordeaux's eatting. he gulps his food down as if he has never been fed. he used to eat his food ok but the last few weeks he gulps it down. i have his bowl on a stand ( which is used for big dogs) but this has not slowed him down, i have other dogs which i feed at diffrent times and keep them out of the room so he will not think they want his dinner but dont know what else i can try? any help?

Something came back to me from the depths of my memory when I read your post. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this might work. Clearly a dog this size eats from a very big dish, so try placing a couple of tennis balls in the dish with the food, or something bigger if the dish allows or you worry the tennis balls are too small from a safety point of view. He ought to spend a bit of the time shifting the balls, and therefor slowing down the eating.
